Surgical Obesity Management
Our surgical practices are focused exclusively on Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band (LAGB) surgery and the ongoing aftercare of LAGB patients, though we are constantly reviewing the scientific literature and are prepared to adjust if the industry of safe and healthy surgical weight loss changes. Adjustment of the gastric band and dietary support are the central aspects of aftercare. Patients typically average six adjustments in the first year, but may require more based on their individual goals and progress.
Some insurance companies cover the cost of the procedure and we have experts available to assist you with coverage determination. In the event your insurance does not cover and you choose to pay out of pocket, the LAGB package includes:
Pre-Operative:
- Consultation with a specially trained medical professional including nutritional evaluation.
- One on one consultation with our insurance coordinator to assist you with your insurance and financing questions.
- Comprehensive workup to minimize risk associated with surgery and anesthesia.
- Comprehensive Surgical Consultation to prepare you for surgery.
- Any additional pre-operative visits with our nursing team, surgeon or insurance coordinator as needed.
Surgery:
- Professional fee for our surgeon and surgical assistant.
- Facility fee.
- Anesthesia fee.
- Cost of the gastric band.
Post-Operative:
- All adjustments at our clinic within the first 13 months.
- All surgeon, nurse, and/or nutritional counseling office visits for the first 13 months.
- Lifetime participation in our support groups.
- Lifetime online support including information on our website and e-mail to your provider.
- Lifetime access to our Patient Support Line, staffed by experienced band patients.
